A few of my readers have been encouraging me to do a piece on wwe's web site. This site has grown over almost a decade so I figured we could go back and look at how the site has transformed over the years.

In 1997 the sites URL was www.wwf.com and remained like that till around 2002 when it had to switch over to wwe.com. I will get int the domain name change later. Her is how the site looked


It is really plain with no navigation what so ever. Basically they wanted your email address so they could alert you of upcoming events.

In 2000 We see there is now a navigation bar providing surfers with more content etc.


Later in 2000 the Navigation bar is changed from the side to the top


2001 came with some changes to the site and the home page is used more to advertise products for shopzone. Note the XFL Logo.


2002 Now the wwf err wwe is utilizing more banner adds for content on their site, advertisements, and shopzone links. More graphical changes but the Navigation bar is still near the top. Also note the wwe graphic has the "F" taken out.


from 2003 till today wwe.com when through more changes graphically, always utilizing banners for advertisements becoming what it is today.

OK now to talk about the domain name change. World wildlife fund sued the wwe over the "WWF" trademark logo. Honestly This whole suit was crap in my personal opinion since normal people would know the difference in logos. Anyways "WWF.com" was changed to "WWE.com" and since then the World wildlife fund has never purchased or had to purchase the URL "WWF.com". Since then wwf.com has been world wrestling forums, and is now a holding site for a crap search company making money off people clicking their links and hoping for the World Wildlife Fund to purchase it for pot of money.
